You are welcome to drop in at NetOutcomes any time. If you are not expected, you may be greeted by Jazz, and occasionally also by Joey, our office dogs.
Many of our clients are charmed by the special Golden Retriever greeting and friendliness Jazz and Joey provide. Even so, we recognize that not everyone likes dogs, especially large dogs that may lick you or hit your leg with a wildly wagging tail. If you prefer to see one of us without Jazz and Joey keeping you company, just let us know and we’ll have them behind a closed door.
Yes, there is a story behind our taking the unusual approach of having dogs, big dogs, in a professional office. Not long after we moved into our building in 2003, our super-senior citizen Golden Retriever, Nicky, died one month short of turning 17. In dog years, he was off the chart at 107+ years old.
Immediately, my wife, Sandra, and I agreed we couldn’t leave our other golden retriever, Sami, a 14-year-old female, at home all by herself. So, Sami began coming to the office daily. She loved the car rides, the extra walks, and her new, extended family at 3138 N. Swan Rd.
The surprise for us was how many clients (both NetOutcomes and the Law Office of Sandra Tedlock) liked having Sami here. Early on, when I tried to steer one of my clients into the conference room he shoved me out of the way and rushed straight to my office door, where Sami looked out from behind the glass. In an instant, he threw the door open and got down on the floor to hug Sami and play with her.
Sadly, Sami lived less than a year longer. Then a year went by before we got Jazz, who is seven now and has been making clients happy since her first visit.
Now, Jazz has been joined by Joey, a rescue dog we found in a temporary home in the Phoenix area.
Again, let us know if you’d prefer not to see dogs when you visit. It’s 100% up to you.
One last point. If you’re looking for a pet – dog, cat, horse, etc. – we recommend Petfinder – www.petfinder.com, a great website.
